The Multimedia University of Kenya (MMU) celebrated the graduating class of 2025 during the 12th Graduation Ceremony on October 31, 2025, at the main campus.
The colorful event, themed Promoting Innovation for a Sustainable Future, brought together graduands, faculty, families and guests in a momentous celebration of learning and achievement.
Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Rosebella Maranga led the celebrations with an uplifting message to the class of 2025, applauding the graduates for their perseverance and encouraged them to stay guided by their ambitions.
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,” she said. “Your hard work has prepared you for this moment, I therefore urged you to use your knowledge to build businesses, shape industries, and make a positive impact in your communities.”
Chief Guest Stephen Motari Isaboke, the Principal Secretary (PS) in the State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications under the Ministry of Information, Communication and Digital Economy, also urged the graduands to embrace innovation as a lifelong pursuit. “Your future will not simply arrive; it will be built,” he said. Isaboke highlighted the growing influence of technology, noting that in a world defined by AI, data, and automation, adaptability and creativity would be their greatest strengths.
The Acting Chancellor, Dr. Albert Kochei, congratulated the graduandes for their academic milestones and reminded them to uphold the values that define the institution. “Carry with you the values of integrity, excellence, creativity and service,” he said. “Let your light shine wherever you go, and let your success reflect the quality of education you have received here.”

Dr. Kochei wished the graduands bright, impactful and purposeful futures as they embark on new chapters of their lives.
The event also recognized top performers across various faculties. Grace Wambui Njuguna was celebrated as the Valedictorian of the Class of 2025, graduating with First Class Honours in BSc Actuarial Science, recognition of both academic brilliance and discipline.
In the Faculty of Science and Technology (FoST), Mwongela Vivian Mumbi was honored as the best student after graduating with First Class Honours in BSc Instrumentation and Control. Vivian is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Nuclear Energy and Power at Harbin Engineering University in China, focusing on nuclear reactor control.
George Mwaura Njau emerged top in the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FoCIT), while Ouma Jennifer Amanda Amondi led in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology (FoSST), graduating with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Arts (Sociology option).
In the Faculty of Media and Communication (FAMECO), Muli Miriam excelled with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Journalism (Broadcast Journalism option). Known for her professionalism and creativity, Miriam stood out for her strong practical skills in both media and corporate communication.
Kithuka Joseph, the best student in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FoET), was recognized for his project Flywheel Energy Storage System, developed with his colleague Kahura Byron. The system, which recorded a tested output of 43.9 V at 2000 RPM, showcased MMU’s dedication to research and innovation in renewable energy solution
As the event concluded, the campus buzzed with celebration and optimism. The Class of 2025 was reminded that their journey with MMU had prepared them not only for the job market but also for leadership in innovation and service.
