MP urges teachers to improve math and sciences grades

Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi has asked teachers in the constituency to help students improve in science subjects to increase transition to university.

The constituency produced the top Kenya Certificate of Primary education (KCSE) Candidate as well as the KCSE Candidate in Bungoma County.

 In 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Kanduyi constituency led others in posting stellar results as 5,603 student’s secured chance to join University for degree programs.

Others who attained a mean grade of C (plain) and below will be joining technical institutions and TTCs to pursue Diploma and certificate courses of their choice.

Addressing Journalists in Bungoma town after an education stakeholder’s forum, he urged teachers to focus on coaching mathematics and science subjects.

He said the two subjects adversely affected the overall results of learner’s results in last year’s exams in the vast sub county.

“I will support them in any way to ensure that math and science subjects improve drastically in 2021 results,” he said.

He said that the second batch of NG-CDF fund will soon be released to institutions and asking school heads to utilize the money well.

“I know that school heads are finding it hard to run schools but they should be patient as funds are about to be released from my NG-CDF kitty to respective institutions,” he said.

The Ford Kenya MP appealed to students who didn’t attain university grades not to give up but instead pursue higher education through technical institutions.
