MP to collaborate with school heads to uplift education standards

Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda has promised to work with Principals and Headteachers from all schools to improve education standards in his constituency.

“My desire is that we work as partners to ensure good education standards in our constituency,” he said.

Jhanda who met all Principals at Kisii School on Monday told them to be prudent managers of their schools and in turn become good models to both teachers and students.

He told them to be consistent and honest in the discharging their duties in order to gain confidence and hope from parents and students in equal measure.

The legislator pledged to solicit funds from the government to further improve infrastructure in schools.

He also told them to work in collaboration with their Board of Management Committees to secure their schools’ land from preying land-grabber.

“Pieces of land belonging to schools have been encroached and I need you to bring the matter to the attention of the county land department for legal assistance,” he advised.

Concerning the ongoing debate regarding the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) Jhanda told the public to give the task force ample time to review the system.

He told students to remain focused on their studies saying discipline and determination were the cornerstones of success.

The legislator further discouraged them from indulging in vices that would divert their attention from studies.

Jhanda concluded by encouraging them to report any sexual offenses accorded to them to the authorities.
