Matuga National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) has set aside bursaries worth Ksh 45 million to assist needy but bright secondary students in the area to advance their education.

Speaking to Education News after attending Matuga Girls’ Education Day recently, Matuga MP Mr. Kassimu Tandaza said that Ksh 15 million had already been disbursed.

The Legislator revealed that the constituency’s NGCDF fund has prioritized the education saying that there will be no single bright secondary school student who will stay at home due to lack of school fees.

However, Mr. Tandaza lamented that many parents had not applied for bursaries and asked them to do soon time.

He conducted an impromptu funds drive meant for the school’s development projects where a sum of Ksh 51,000 was raised.

Mr. Tandaza also donated Ksh 3 million for the purchase of a new bus for the school.

He also urged education stakeholders in the constituency to co-operate with him to improve education standards in the area.
