In the heart of Trans-Nzoia County, a remarkable individual is making waves in the education sector. Dr Robert Pukose, the MP for Endebess, is a man on a mission – to transform the education landscape in his constituency.
A medical doctor by profession, Dr Pukose has seamlessly merged his passion for healthcare with his love for education. As a politician, he’s leveraged his position to drive meaningful change, making education his top priority.
One of his notable initiatives is donating school buses to numerous secondary schools in the area. Out of the 45 secondary schools in Endebess sub-county, the majority have already received buses, with only a few exceptions.
Chepchoina Secondary School and Njoro Secondary School are among those slated to receive buses soon, a move that’s been welcomed by students, teachers, and parents alike.
Dr Pukose’s philanthropic spirit extends to bursaries, where he awards at least Ksh 30,000 per student, surpassing allocations from other MPs in the county.
This has brought relief to numerous needy students, enabling them to pursue their academic dreams. He’s also gone a step further by sponsoring a number of graduates who didn’t pursue education to undertake Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) courses, equipping them with teaching qualifications and boosting the region’s teacher workforce.
Through NG-CDF, Dr Pukose has also invested heavily in infrastructure development. St. Mary’s Nai Boys received millions for an overall facelift, while Nalulingo Secondary School got an ultra-modern twin laboratory. Several classrooms across the constituency have also benefited from his initiatives.
“If you approach Pukose with something touching education, he’s swift to act without much ado,” says Timothy Ongeri, Parents Association chairperson of Nai Primary School.

“His dedication to education is unwavering, and we’re grateful for his support.”
The impact of Dr Pukose’s efforts is palpable, with Endebess sub-county witnessing significant growth in its education sector.
The sub-county now boasts about 45 secondary schools and 120 primary schools, a testament to the MP’s commitment.
