MP pledges to transform education to repay voters’ trust

Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka has said he is fully committed to transforming his constituency in appreciation of his re-election, beginning with education.

Aseka said that breaking the one-term jinx that had haunted his predecessors was a milestone that he would never take for granted.

He said he had laid an elaborate plan to develop all parts of the constituency no matter how the locals voted in the polls.

He said his priority areas are education, roads and bridges, electrification, security and alleviation of poverty.

“We started with an education programme that committed to ensure children from poor family backgrounds get sponsored to acquire knowledge,” the MP said, revealing that his foundation, the Aseka Miradi Foundation, is the flagship that caters for hundreds of needy learners under scholarships.

He said they have so far done 18 storey buildings in primary and secondary schools across the constituency and that they are committed to delivering such facilities in the learning institutions by 2027.

“We intend to purchase 5 buses for our schools in the financial year 2024/2025,” he added, stating that he has embarked on building laboratories in primary schools in line with the Competency -Based Curriculum (CBC).

“We have delivered education bursaries to both secondary and tertiary institutions in and outside Khwisero and we are committed to ensuring that there will be free day school programme in our constituency by 2026,” he added.

He said they are currently connecting all parts of Khwisero to the national electricity grid to enhance business and security.

“We have both REREC and Kenya Power personnel on the ground in different parts of Khwisero. We are installing both new transformers on last mile connectivity and enhancing maximization,” the MP said.

He was speaking at Eshirotsa Primary School where he commissioned the construction of a new storey tuition block to be funded by the NGCDF.
