The Kapsigilai Senior Girls School community in Tinderet Sub-County came together to celebrate improved academic performance in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.
Parents, teachers, students, alumni and local leaders attended the thanksgiving ceremony held on Monday morning, with the area Member of Parliament Julius Melly gracing the occasion.
The school recorded a 42 per cent transition rate to university, with 21 candidates attaining the minimum university entry grade, a milestone the administration described as a significant improvement and a source of renewed optimism.
Speaking during the ceremony, MP Melly congratulated the students for their discipline and resilience, saying the results reflected determination and consistency.

“These results show that when learners are focused and teachers are supported, success becomes achievable,” he said.
The legislator noted that the performance was proof that investment in education yields tangible outcomes and reaffirmed his commitment to support schools across the constituency through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
“I will continue to use NG-CDF to improve infrastructure in our schools so that students can learn in a safe and conducive environment,” Melly said.
He added that NG-CDF resources would remain instrumental in improving classrooms, dormitories, laboratories and other essential facilities, expressing confidence that better infrastructure would lead to even higher transition rates to universities and tertiary institutions.
Melly also urged students to remain focused on their academic goals and encouraged parents to work closely with school administrations to enhance learning.
“Education remains one of the most effective tools for transforming our communities and improving livelihoods in this Sub-County,” he said.
Board of Governors Chairperson Samuel Kiprotich attributed the improved results to teamwork among stakeholders, saying the ceremony was organised not only to give thanks but also to motivate current students.

“This achievement did not come by chance. It is the product of commitment by our girls, dedication by teachers and unwavering support from parents and leaders,” he said.
Kiprotich noted that the school had prioritised discipline, mentorship and academic support programmes, which were now bearing fruit. He added that the board was working closely with the administration to address infrastructure gaps and improve learning resources to sustain the upward trajectory.
The thanksgiving ceremony featured prayers, hymns and student performances, with alumni delivering motivational messages and urging learners to seize available opportunities.
Community leaders present called for sustained investment in education and closer collaboration between the government, parents and school management to further uplift academic standards in the Sub-County.
The event concluded with a call for unity and shared responsibility in nurturing academic excellence, as the school community expressed optimism of posting even better results in the coming years.
