MP, manufacturing giants donate foodstuff to Malindi candidates

The Malindi MP’s Office in Kilifi County in collaboration with Mombasa Cement and Dola Maize Millers donated foodstuff to 43 public primary schools in Malindi sub county as lunch programme for the Standard 8 and Grade 6 candidates.

Speaking to Education News in his office in Malindi town recently, the Office Manager, Mr. Adam Juma said that the MP, Ms. Amina Munyazi initiated the three-day lunch programme to enable the candidates write their examinations unhindered.

The MP engaged Mombasa Cement and Dola Maize Millers who accepted the idea and contributed generously towards the programme.

Mr. Juma disclosed that the free foodstuffs were donated to five Wards; Shella Ward received 570 Kgs of maize flour and 280 Kgs of beans, Jilore and Kakuyuni Wards each got 1,200 Kgs of maize flour and 300 Kgs of beans each respectively. Ganda Ward received 470 Kgs of maize flour and 230 Kgs of beans, while Malindi Town Ward got 650 Kgs of Maize flour and 340 Kgs of beans.

Malindi Sub County Director of Education, Mr. Josphat Ngumi noted that 18,299 candidates benefited from the initiative.
