MP issues Sh3.3 million Scholarship to needy students

Mandera North Member of Parliament (MP) Bashir Abdullahi has issued scholarship worth Kshs 3.3 million to 22 bright and needy students from his constituency through the local National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).

According to the legislator who was speaking in Rhamu, they have been sponsoring students from vulnerable families over the last couple of years.

“So far, a total of 62 students have benefited from this programme since it was started three years ago. The government is fully committed to ensuring that all Kenyan children are accorded the opportunity to learn,” says the MP.

He encouraged the students who have befitted from the programme to work hard in their studies so as to secure a bright future for themselves and also help their parents.

He was accompanied by the area MCA Abdi Kulla who also urged parents and  the Ministry of Education to ensure every child gets access to education.
