MP in Kakamega pledges to ensure 100 per cent transition of students

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya said that he has put mechanism in place to ensure that the constituency record 100 per cent transition rate of students to various level of learning so that to eradicate poverty in the homes.

The MP noted that his bursary provision model ensure that all the applicants have received so that to make sure nobody is discriminated from getting basic education which he said that its key to formation of an individual life.

He further said that his main agenda is to see that all school going children in the area access education promising that upon completing form four he has programme for those who do not qualify for the university.

He said that he will ensure they enroll in technical institutes with his office catering for the admission fee while National government pays for the tuition of the students.

He said that he has improved facilities at Wanga Technical Training Institute and soon is giving them a bus.

He asked students to enroll at the institute as courses there guarantees them employment or they can opt for self-employment.

The legislator further revealed that he has invested in East Wanga Medical Training College where he is putting up storey tuition block that will enable it to roll out more courses for the benefit of the community.

Salasya was speaking at St Stephen Maraba Secondary School during Annual General Meeting where he promised student a flight ride if they perform better in this year exams.
