MP expresses discontent over schools performance in his constituency

POOR SCHOOLS PERFORMANCE

Kangundo Member of Parliament Fabian Muli has expressed his dissatisfaction over the overall performance of schools in his constituency.

Speaking at Kawethei Girls, Muli said that students need to put more effort and work hard in their academics to register satisfactory results.

According to the lawmaker, it would be good if the effort by education stakeholders is reciprocated by excellent results.

“We cannot be clapping when a mean score of 4.5 is announced, that is a D and is not something to celebrate about, “said the lawmaker.

Muli spoke this after pledging Sh. 5 million during a fundraiser to construct a dormitory at the school.

He also asked schools with boreholes to ensure they are powered by solar and not electricity.

He noted that many schools let the electricity bill accumulate and the power is cut off before they get help.

“If you have a borehole in school which is powered by electricity bring a proposal to my office so that we can install solar panels, we can’t have electricity bills of a hundred thousand in schools,” he noted.

Other leaders who were present include Machakos governor Wavinya Ndeti, County lawmakers, ministers and chief officers.
