Kapseret Member of Parliament has disbursed bursary cheques worth Sh48.8 million to bright but needy students in his contituency.

Sudi while speaking after disbursing the bursaries to various students said the money will ensure that the students are not sent home due to lack of fees.

“I have disbursed Sh48.8 million bursary to bright but need students, my administration aims at ensuring that no student is sent home due to lack of fees. The process of identifying the needy students to be awarded bursaries was done on merit,” said the MP as he called on the beneficiaries to work hard  for them to get good grades as he plans on increasing money for the kitty.

He further called on School Principals not to send students home due to lack of school fees since most of the parents are unable to pay.

“I want to call upon head teachers to have a human heart by allowing students to continue studying even if they have not paid fees since most of the parents were affected by the effects of coronavirus and are unable to pay, “he added.

The Kapseret legislator warned school heads and management against misusing development funds  and should account for every cent they have been given.

“I want to urge the School Heads and Management to ensure accountability when spending public or private funds. Any mismanagement of public funds will not be tolerated,” said the Kapseret legislator.
