North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko has expressed frustration over the disunity among Nyamira County Assembly members, claiming it has hindered regional development.
Nyamoko pointed out that divisions within the Assembly have led to the stagnation of Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) classroom projects in wards represented by MCAs perceived as opponents of Governor Amos Nyaribo and his allies.
According to the MP, these projects are not being funded due to political differences.
Speaking at Riechieri in his constituency, Nyamoko urged Governor Nyaribo to embrace broader consultation with other leaders to help reconcile the two rival factions within the County Assembly — one led by Enock Okero, who was impeached but resisted the move and the other by Thadeus Nyabaro.
He accused Governor Nyaribo of using a “divide and rule” approach, warning that it only breeds hostility and causes unnecessary delays in development projects.
“When I try to reconcile the groups, the governor accuses me of being interested in his seat. Let him know I have not declared any intention to run for governor. My only interest is seeing a peaceful county focused on improving our children’s education, health, and employment,” he added.

Nyamoko also inspected school construction and renovation projects launched by President William Ruto in July last year. He expressed disappointment over the state of the projects, noting that most of the 72 schools funded by the Kuwait Government had stalled due to slow disbursement of funds.
He blamed local leaders’ disunity for failing to present a united front in pushing the government to fulfil its development promises. A survey by Education News revealed many incomplete primary and secondary school projects.
Among the stalled projects is Kiabonyoru Secondary School, which remains at the foundation stage. Others include Egesieri Primary School in West Mugirango Constituency, where the construction of three classrooms was abandoned due to non-payment, and Kenyerere Primary School in Kitutu Masaba Constituency.
