MP calls on electorates’ support in developing area’s education sector

Suna West Member of Parliament Hon. Peter Francis Masara has urged his constituents to support education projects aimed at setting a firm foundation for their children.

He was speaking at Barasengo Primary School on 23rd July where he had gone to commission three classrooms constructed and two renovated by the constituency’s NG-CDF kitty.

Masara who has in the recent past been commissioning education projects said his major focus on education during his first term was to set a permanent foundation for the children within the area whose dreams were cut short either due to lack of school fees or long distance coverage to access schools.

“When you elected me, we had only 69 both secondary and primary schools within the constituency. I have worked tirelessly to see this number is increased in liason with the education stakeholders and today we have a total of 19 new schools. We have not only focused on starting new schools but also on equipping them with necessary resources,” he said.

Furthermore, he asked parents to embrace local schools and give adequate support to the learning institutions within their locality.

“The NG-CDF has been giving support learning institutions within the constituency. Parents should not shy away from enrolling their children in the schools since they have all they would get from schools in other regions,” said Masara.

The legislator who is defending his parliamentary seat on an ODM ticket against four other candidates among them former member of Parliament Joseph Obiero challenged the electorates to elect development-oriented leaders into office.

“Vote in leaders who can easily be reached to address your problems and who can influence allocation of resources to the constituency. I have faith this will be easy for me as your MP to access resources both at the county and national government if you elect the ODM gubernatorial candidate in Migori County and Raila Odinga as the president,” he added.

He promised to continue to serve his constituents to ensure their concerns are addressed and solutions to their problems are found.
