Navakholo Member of Parliament, MP Emmanuel Wangwe has urged the parents to consider taking their children to the nearby local schools in order to make education cheaper and lessen their burden.
Speaking on Sunday, October 5, at Shitochi Primary school in Isukha South, Shinyalu constituency where he was the chief guest during the commissioning of a new building block, the MP said nearby learning institutions offer similar education and similar examinations like the far distant schools.
“The truth is that whether you study at the Alliance High School or study here, the only difference is the school fees. You pay more there while you pay less here.” He emphasized.

Wangwe said pupils in nearby learning institutions become day scholars, pay little amounts for school fees hence making education very cheap compared to pupils studying far away from homes who pay large amounts of money in order to carter for fees and other logistics making education very expensive.

The MP challenged the teaching staff to take advantage of the facility to improve education standards so as to achieve better results which will attract high enrolment.
He urged parents to put aside any differences they could be having in order to provide a conducive environment for candidates so that they can feel better and sit for their exams when ready and happy.
Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali, who also grace the event expressed his displeasure of low education levels in Isukha (Shinyalu) and Idakho (Ikolomani) caused by bullfighting event. He urged parents to agree with their youths on when they can engage in the activity if they must do it.

“Today is Sunday and many people have gone to churches, but others have staged bullfighting. Tomorrow is on Monday but still others will stage bullfighting! Not every day is bullfighting! You must stop and embrace education.”He pleaded.
The host MP Fred Ikana however said Shinyalu is improving in education citing the recent statistics in the county which shows since 2022 the constituency was number eleven but now standing at the sixth position.
The MP said he was looking forward to a better results this year because as he has prioritized education and helped built 14 such new buildings in the same number of schools using the CDF kitty for funding which has provided good environment for teachers and pupils.
