Moi University is not collapsing, assures VC

Moi University Vice Chancellor Prof Isaac Kosgey has refuted claims that the University is collapsing due to mismanagement.

Speaking to the press at Rivatex East Africa Company, Prof. Kosgey said the problems the institution is currently facing are historical.

“I want to tell the public that the University is doing well and trying to solve the problems it is facing,” said Prof. Kosgey.

He reiterated that his leadership has nothing to do with the challenges at the institution.

Prof Kosgey was responding to reports that EACC had launched a probe into an alleged embezzlement of funds in his office over a bloated payroll occasioned by many ghost workers.

Earlier on Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) through its North Rift regional office had written a letter to the university requesting to conduct investigations on allegations of embezzlement of funds in the office of the vice chancellor.

The VC also denied receiving a letter from EACC.
