Moi Siongiroi Girls Secondary School in Chepalungu Sub-County, Bomet County, and Olashapani Girls Secondary School in Narok South Sub-County emerged as the standout performers in the term one secondary school games, showcasing outstanding talent, discipline, and teamwork.
In Chepalungu, Moi Siongiroi dominated the basketball competition played on a round robin basis, finishing top of the standings with 6 points — the same tally as Kaboson Girls — but claiming the title on superior goal difference. Olbutyo Girls finished third with 3 points, followed closely by Siongiroi Day in fourth position with 3 points.
School Senior Principal Norah Yegon expressed immense pride in her team’s achievement, saying she is proud of her girls.
“They played with heart, discipline and unity throughout the tournament. Winning this title is a testament to their hard work, the support from our coaches and the backing of the entire school community. We celebrate this success, but we are already focused on preparing for the next level of competition,” said the principal.
Over in Narok South Sub-County, Olashapani Girls Secondary School produced a commanding performance on their home courts.
In the basketball competition, they finished unbeaten with 4 points, ahead of Loita (2 points) and Ngoswani (0 points).
But the celebrations did not stop there.

In handball, Olashapani delivered back-to-back emphatic victories, beating Ngoswani 13 0 and then dominating Loita 12 0 to clinch the title with authority.
Principal Glory Nkatha lauded her students’ dedication and versatility:
“This double — in basketball and handball — is a historic moment for our school. Our girls demonstrated incredible skill, resilience, and teamwork. I commend the coaches for their guidance and the students for their commitment. This achievement will inspire many more to pursue excellence in sports and in their studies.”
Both schools now look forward to representing their respective sub-counties at higher levels of competition, with strong community backing and a growing culture of girls’ sports empowerment.
