Ouko Victor Moi, a determined student who scored 286 marks in his KCPE, is facing a significant hurdle in pursuit of education due to financial constraints.
Despite his success, Moi is at risk of missing out on the opportunity to join Form One.
He comes from a vulnerable background, raised by a single-parent father who is struggling to raise the school fees required at Nduru High School.
The family is living a precarious life, and Moi expresses deep concern about the possibility of not being able to pursue his education.
The young boy reveals that his father, the sole provider, is unable to cover the cost of his education.
Moi emphasizes the challenges he faced even in securing necessities like food and uniform while in primary school.
His elder brother is currently in Form Three, and they all live hand-to-mouth.
To make ends meet, they engage in manual labour, struggling to afford even basic items like kerosene for a small lantern.
The family’s financial difficulties became so severe that they had to sell their only cow to pay for Moi’s elder brother’s school fees.
Despite the obstacles, Moi is determined to achieve his dream of becoming a doctor.
He appeals to well-wishers and the community at large to support him in paying his school fees.
His plea reflects the resilience and determination of many children facing financial hardships and seeking assistance to overcome the barriers to their education.
