MoE to reward school boards showing exemplary performance, pledges Machogu

The Cabinet Secretary for Education Ezekiel Machogu has said school Boards of School Management (BoM) that will demonstrates exemplary leadership will get special commendation from his office.

He said that boards have pivotal roles in the development of schools because they are bridges between communities and schools.

“No school can develop like an Island unless there are bridges to connect it to the feeders who are the community,” he said.

The CS who presided over the thanksgiving ceremony of Henry Koskey -Kibukwo Secondary School in Nandi County, congratulated the institution’s BoM, teachers and students for their continued hard work and improved performance ensuring academic success.

“Education development and excellence are our pillars in the Kenya Kwanza Government. When you succeed we feel proud of you,” he said.

The CS was flanked by area leaders led by Tinderet MP Julius Kibiwott.

Kibiwott said his NG-DCF office has tried to give priority to the development of infrastructure by constructing modern classrooms, laboratories and libraries.

He said that in this year alone his office used more than KSh60 million to fund students in both university and secondary schools to continue with their education.

Head asked Principals from his constituency to utilise the available land by setting up income generating projects to top up to any money they get from the Government for development.

He asked students to work hard in their studies in order to succeed to enable them emancipate their families from the bondage of poverty.

Elsewhere, at Henry Kokwet Mixed secondary school, the CS led other leaders to launch the institution’s 2024-2028 Strategic Plan in a colorful ceremony over the weekend.

He reiterated his ministry’s keenness in rolling out rafts of reforms in the Basic Education sector that will be achieved through the enactment of the 11 crucial bills and the integration of ICT in the school curriculum.

He assured the public of the government’s preparedness to invest in equipping schools with requisite technical infrastructure that will support teaching and learning in strengthening Science, Technical, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in schools.
