The Ministry of Education (MoE) is today releasing Grade 10 placement results for learners who sat the Kenya Junior Secondary School Assessment (KJSEA), Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok has confirmed.

This comes as the country prepares for the first-ever transition of Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) learners into senior school in 2026.

Candidates will access their placement details by sending their KNEC assessment number via SMS to 22263.

A five‑day revision window opens on Tuesday, December 23, allowing learners and parents to request changes where necessary.

The KJSEA, administered between October 27 and November 3, assessed more than 1.1 million learners across 12 learning areas, including English, Mathematics, Agriculture and Nutrition, Kiswahili or Kenya Sign Language, Integrated Science, Pre‑technical Studies, Creative Arts and Sports, Social Studies and Religious Education.

Speaking during the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) 65th Annual Delegates’ Conference at the Kasarani Gymnasium, earlier this week, Bitok underscored the importance of close collaboration between the Ministry of Education and teachers’ unions in steering national education reforms. He assured delegates that the government is addressing concerns raised around junior secondary schools ahead of the Grade 10 rollout.

Bitok also urged teachers to guide parents in interpreting the KJSEA outcomes, noting that the CBC grading structure differs significantly from the traditional Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) marks.

With the release of placements today, the Ministry is expected to intensify public awareness efforts to ensure parents, teachers and learners understand the transition process as the country moves into a new phase of CBC implementation.
