The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced the 2026 National Amani Clubs Debate Championship, bringing together schools from across the country in a major co-curricular event aimed at promoting peace and national cohesion.
According to an official circular dated March 24, 2026, the championship will be held at Machakos School from April 7 to 11.
The annual event is organized by the Kenya National Amani Clubs Association under the auspices of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission.
The ministry said the championship seeks to provide a platform for students to engage in structured debates on emerging societal issues affecting the country. It aims to cultivate critical thinking, dialogue, and peaceful conflict resolution among learners in secondary schools.
More than 1,000 students and 200 teachers are expected to attend the five-day event, highlighting growing participation in Amani Club activities nationwide.

The directive was issued by Basic Education Principal Secretary Prof Julius Bitok, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening unity and cohesion through school-based programs.
