The State department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) has deployed principals across technical training institutions countrywide.
The latest deployment has affected principals who were managing both top national polytechnics and Technical Training Institutes (TTIs).
Education News has reliably learnt that Kabete National Polytechnic Principal Okumu Odhiambo will move to Kisumu National Polytechnic to replace Catherine Kelonye.

Kelonye has been deployed to Friends College Kaimosi to take over from Michael Musuya who is understood to have retired from service.
In the recent past, Kisumu National Polytechnic has been rocked with incessant student strikes and the learning environment has largely been compromised by perennial closures arising from the riots.

Patrick Muchemi, who has been heading Mukurweni TTI in Nyeri County, will replace Okumu in Kabete National Polytechnic.
A deputy principal of Kipkabus TTI will reportedly replace Muchemi.
The principal of Eldoret National Polytechnic Charles Koech has been transferred to Sang’alo Institute of Science and Technology in Bungoma County. He will replace Dr. Rosebella Chukwu who will take charge at his previous station in Eldoret.

These transfers were totally unexpected and are a shock to many as the Directorate of Technical and Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education normally conducts such exercises during school holidays.
