The Ministry of Education has transferred some of its Sub-County Directors of Education (SCDE) in an ongoing mini reshuffle.

In the latest transfers in Kisii County, Kenyenya (SCDE) George Ouma has been moved to Borabu in Nyamira County.

He has been succeeded by Gladys Otieno after holding the position for over seven years.

In his farewell speech to the residents of Kenyenya on Tuesday, the outgoing SCDE lauded the head teachers in the region led by David Osoro of Motive Secondary School for their cooperation.

“During my tenure you made me proud by positing the best examination results from Kisii County,” he said.

He asked them work closely with the incoming SCDE to continue improving education standards in the region.

At the same time, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Kenyenya SCDE, Shem Odhiambo said that the Education Ministry and TSC directors will work hand in hand in pursuit of academic excellence in the area.
