The recent retooling of Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers in West Pokot County was a great milestone in implementing Competency-Based Education (CBE) in schools.
The workshop took place at Nasokol Girls’ High School during the April holiday.
Teachers in attendance were taken through the following vital areas: revised retooling guidelines, reporting assessment outcomes, competency-based assessment tools, authentic assessment, administration of school-based assessment, professional documents, and assessment of core competencies.

Teachers from the following zones were in attendance: Mnagei, Siyoi, Chemwochoi, Riwo, Kanyarkwat, Sook and the host Kishaunet zone.
The CSOs from all the zones greatly assisted in facilitating the CBE programme.
The West Pokot Sub County Director of TSC, Wepoghe Kamas, appreciated the large number of teachers who turned up and asked them to implement the CBE programme at their schools to benefit the learners.
