Meru Woman Representative Elizabeth Kailema has urged Governors and Members of Parliament (MP) to work together to ensure efficient disbursement of bursaries.
She was speaking at Mama Safi Centre in Kinoru where she issued bursary cheques worth Ksh5.3 million to students in secondary schools and tertiary institutions on Thursday.
Kailema asked school heads to provide data of students unable to pay schools fees to make arrangements on how they will continue their education as she is determined to ensure implementation of the 100 per cent transition policy.
At the same time, the Woman Rep asked Form four leavers who attained less than Grade C+ to embrace Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to acquire skills for employment or wealth creation.
Kailema was accompanied by Meru Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), a representative of Senator Kathuri Murungi and Buuri Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Mugambi Rindikiri.
