The students claimed crime rate as increased of late and blamed lack of street lights for the increase. They said the worst time is in the evening and night when thugs take advantage of the darkness to steal.
They regretted that their efforts to raise the issue with the relevant authorities have fallen in deaf ears so far and many students continue to suffer in the hands of thugs who ravage the area with zeal.
