A member of Meru County Assembly has warned parents against discouraging their children who sat for KCPE over poor performance.

Speaking in Meru town recently Ruiri Rwarera MCA Peter Mutuma Kalembe said demoralizing the candidates over performance could result to suicide.

“Many of these candidates that were said to have failed are the great entrepreneurs and architects who even later come to employ those who passed exams,” Kalembe said.

He praised the candidates for defying disruptions of the education by Covid-19 pandemic to achieve excellent results.

“I want to congratulate teachers and KCPE candidates in my ward. The candidates have made me proud and I am happy to see despite the challenges posed by Covid-19 pandemic they achieved excellent results. None of them will be neglected including those who were not in top positions. None has failed,” Kalembe said.

Kalembe called on parents to enroll learners who may not be in a position to join secondary schools to polytechnic.

He called on parents to allow their children to pursue their talents and passion especially in creative arts.
