MCA pleads with youth to join TVETs to fight unemployment

Kabartonjo Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Mr. Symon Kiplagat has asked youth to embrace technical education to address exacerbating unemployment and inadequate skills in the area.

Speaking during a development tour at Kaimugul, the leader advised them to join Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) institutions to equip themselves with adequate knowledge and skills.

The county legislature rallied Form Four leavers to take advantage of the opportunity by joining the mushrooming technical institutions in the area.

He decried on inadequate skilled personnel in the region and blamed it on majority of scholars taking courses discredited the by job market.

”Government has noble and indispensable role to canvas agenda on uplifting education through technical institution as promised in electioneering period. I challenge you also to cuddle on this chance for Kabartonjo Ward is no exception but to benefit,” he advised.

He praised government’s efforts of increasing National-Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) saying it has played instrumental role in relieving burden of parents paying school fees,  especially for children from poor background.

He further revealed that County Government of Baringo has already budgeted Ksh. 30 Million education bursaries for students in secondary schools and tertiary institutions.

The MCA also affirmed that his ward has already set aside another Ksh. 750, 000 ward fund to realize education.

Mr. Kiplagat lauded financial institutions in the area for their pivotal role in allowing students from deserving families to continue with education.
