The County Executive for Education, Anne Desma, welcomed the new leadership, stressing the importance of discipline as the school seeks to raise its academic standards.

“We are targeting higher than the earlier set mean score of 7.5 in the upcoming KCSE examinations. This will require commitment and a shared focus on academic excellence,” said Desma.

“We are going to restore the glory of Mbale high school,” she reiterated.

Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Vihiga Branch Executive Secretary Sabala Inyeni pledged full support for the new principal.

Other stakeholders also expressed optimism that with a shared vision and collective effort, the school will once more rebuild a conducive environment for learning.

Meanwhile, for better part of the last second term, students at the institution, only attended lessons for six weeks following two separate incidents of strikes that forced indefinite closure of the school.

However, after the stakeholders meeting held at the school, authorities are now assuring parents teachers and learners of uninterrupted learning at Mbale high school, even as schools countrywide reopen next week.

Mbale Boy High School has experienced various students’ unrest which led to leadership reshuffle and stakeholders intervention in order to salvage the school from sinking.
