Mavoko MP vows to develop infrastructure in area schools

Mavoko

Mavoko Member of Parliament (MP) Patrick Makau has promised support the area education sector by developing infrastructure in schools.

Speaking at a prize-giving day at Athi River Secondary school on Friday, Makau noted that many schools in the sub-county were striving to register good results in national examinations.

He disclosed that there are several projects lined up for schools in the coming financial year.

The MP promised to hold a meeting with KESSHA and KEPSHA leadership in the sub-county to strategize on how to improve education standards.

“Whenever I come to this school, I cannot help but feel proud. We built this school from the ground and it has made massive strides in securing a space in the hall of academic fame,” said the lawmaker.

He promised that students who did their KCSE examinations in the school in 2021 and 2022 will receive full scholarships from his foundation.

Makau urged parents to invest in the education of their children for a better future.

“An educated youth is an empowered youth, so as parents it is your responsibility to ensure you support your kids’ education. Support their dreams and ambitions by providing material and moral support.” He appealed.
