Matungu MP announces issuance of scholarships to Grade 10 students to boost education standards

Matungu Member of Parliament, MP Peter Nabulindo has announced issuance of scholarships to bright but needy Grade 10 students in senior schools to elevate educational standards in the region.

MP Nabulindo made the remarks during the official handing over of Emuberi comprehensive school administration block on Wednesday January 21, 2026.

The lawmaker asked parents who are still stranded in admitting Grade 10 learners to visit Matungu CDF offices and be issued with cheques instantly.

The MP appealed to parents and residents to come up and seek scholarships for their children as there is still chance for Grade 10 admissions, calling upon all learners who are still at home to approach him

The legislator agreed with all principals in the constituency that any student who has joined his scholarship programme will no longer be send home for fees until they complete senior school education

At the same time Nabulindo begged parents to give him children to educate them. “Parents your work is to give birth and I will always be there to educate for you.” You send me in parliament and I should accomplish my pledges.” Nabulindo Stated

He said that parents should not shy away from asking for assistant from him, saying he is ready to chip in when needed.

“In my programme starting next week all schools in Matungu should be filled with students who sat for KJSEA exams last year and proceed to Grade 10.  Those still at home due to lack of fees should report immediately.” He Emphasized and warned parents who will be found with a child at home

Emuberi primary and Junior secondary school head teacher Robert Opwora lauded the MP for constructing a modern administration office which will he said will boost performance.

He added that despite the fact that Emuberi KJSEA candidates’ performance was exemplary; the school operates without electricity and has waited for a transformer for many years pledged by the MP.

“The solar panel that was used was struck by thunder and lightning therefore I’m requesting for Ksh 170, 000 for installation. There will be power in the school and the new office as the current education requires digital devices and can’t teach without them.” Opwora Explained
