Matiang’i reiterates govt’s pledge to uplift education standards

Interior CS  Dr. Fred Matiang’i has reiterated the government’s efforts to uplift education standards in the country.

“The government allocates more  funds to the education sector because quality education is the foundation of development.” he said.

Speaking at Tombe Girls Secondary in Manga Ward on Friday, the CS said that the government is set to improve infrastructure in all public learning institutions to usher in the Junior Secondary school learners.

He then reminded teachers to prepare well and assist the government to make the CBC transition successful.

Later on, Dr. Matiang’i thanked the professionals from Kisii and Nyamira Counties for coming together to supplement the government’s effort to improve infrastructure of schools in their communities.

“Charity begins at home and I thank God for these great people who sacrifice themselves to uplift the community by contributing towards education,” he said.

During the occasion he helped to  raise more than Shs 29 million for the construction of a dormitory in the school.
