Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) has announced the rollout of its Talent Scholarship for the 2026/2027 academic year, a programme designed to recognize and support gifted students in sports and performing arts. The initiative offers partial tuition support, allowing beneficiaries to pursue academic programmes of their choice while continuing to nurture their talents.
In a public notice, the university invited applications from young men and women excelling in disciplines such as handball, hockey, volleyball, soccer, basketball, athletics, rugby, netball, and music and performing arts. While most opportunities are open to both genders, rugby is reserved for men and netball for women. Officials added that exceptionally talented individuals in indoor games or other sports not explicitly listed may also be considered.
Applicants must meet minimum academic requirements set by the Senate. Degree candidates are required to have attained at least a C+ in KCSE or a C (plain) with a relevant diploma, while diploma applicants must have scored a minimum of C- or hold qualifications approved by the Senate.
