Maralal High School Chief Principal George Lelesimoi has raised concern over the dilapidated infrastructures choking the school and dimming the students’ dreams of academic excellence.
Speaking at the school, Lelesimoi said the school lack adequate dormitories to accommodate the current high enrolment of the students, modern laboratory, modern ICT Library, adequate classrooms, well-equipped modern library ,administration block to cope with status of C1 National School, and a perimeter wall to enhance security of students
He added that the school also struggle with mobility need, saying there is no bus to assist students and teacher in important academic trips.
He is calling upon the well -wishers, state agencies and other stakeholders to assist the school in improving its infrastructural status being, saying that being a national school, the students and teachers ought to have a conducive environment.

However, despite the infrastructural hardships, the school managed to post an impressive results in the past 2025 KCSE results, transiting 113 students out of the 139 direct to University with a mean score of 7.52 up from 7.13 in the 2023 KCSE exams.
The principal has remained optimistic that when the infrastructural problem in the school is sorted, they will be in better positions to rise to greater heights.
He further urged the Teachers Service Commission to deploy more teachers to the school to address the issue of understaffing to counter the increasing students population.
“We appreciate TSC for recognising our school for live streaming of subjects but we also request TSC to add us more teachers to address understaffing in our school,” said Chief Principal
