Mandera launches second phase of inspired coaches training to boost ECDE learning

Mandera County under Department of Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE)  has launched the second phase of training for INSPIRED program coaches.

The workshop officially opened by the County Chief Officer for Public Service Management, Mohamud Mohamed Ali, aims to strengthen the capacity of coaches who play a crucial role in supporting ECDE teachers and improving early learning outcomes across the county.

The training conducted in partnership with Education Development Trust (EDT) and Voices of People in Africa (VOPA) under the inspired initiative, is funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom.

The five-day workshop brought together officials from the County Government’s Department of ECDE, the Ministry of Education and tutors from Mandera Teachers Training College.

The County Government of Mandera has commended the progress made through this collaborative effort saying the partnership has led to significant improvements in service delivery within the ECDE sector, with better coordination between the county and key stakeholders in education.

The ongoing training is expected to further enhance the quality of early childhood education by equipping coaches with advanced skills and strategies that will directly benefit ECDE teachers and learners.

It marks another step towards strengthening foundational learning in Mandera, ensuring that young children receive the support they need for a strong educational start.
