Residents of Keera Village in Nyamache sub-county have lauded area Chief and the Police after they arrested a man who has allegedly being defiling his 8-year-old daughter.
It is reported that the suspect’s wife left for a neighbouring country to seek employment and left her husband with the schoolgirl.
Soon after her departure, the father allegedly turned against her daughter and started defiling her.
“He snuck into my bedroom one night and forced himself on me and since then, he keeps telling me nothing is wrong,” the girl said.
She reported the matter to her elder sister, who informed the police after admission at Nyamache Hospital where the abuse was confirmed and the girl immediately placed under medical supervision.
Area Chief John Oganda confirmed the incident and the arrest of the man who is being detained at Nyangusu Police Station.
Nyamache Sub County Director of Education (SCDE) Linet Onduso condemned the act and asked parents to be at the forefront of protecting their children instead of preying on them.
She asked the Church to sensitize communities on embracing Godly practices.
