‘’We will ensure that when the new academic year begins, the university will have new admissions. It is our hope that the institution   will get the necessary support from KU until  it is  able to walk alone ‘’said Magoha.

The Kenyatta University   vice chancellor Prof Paul Maina   said the constituent college will be under a principal and BOM ,though their academic programmes and exams will be administered from KU.

He said the Commission of University Education (CUE) has inspected the school to ensure it meets the requisite standards to admit students directly and was impressed by the progress.

‘’The college is ready to be accredited, gazetted and be regularized before it opens in September.’’ the VC said.

He said the new institution will offer courses in information communication Technology, environmental studies, and hospitality etc.

Although the new university college has state of the art infrastructure, the students will have to look for accommodation elsewhere outside the university.

‘’In future, the administration will have to construct accommodation facilities   as students numbers increase,’’ said the Prof   who called on investors to construct hostels.
