Malindi Sub-county Director of Education Rashid Robir has urged stakeholders in Malindi Sub-county, Kilifi County to work together to improve academic standards and national examination performance in the area.
Speaking to Education News in his Malindi office, the Director said collective responsibility is key in raising education outcomes, urging school principals and teachers to intensify efforts ahead of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Robir acknowledged an improvement in the 2024 KCSE results but stressed that “there is still more room for improvement.”
He added that his office had already met teachers at divisional levels to review last year’s KCSE results and put in place strategic plans for 2025.

The education director further asked teachers to be dedicated by conducting regular evaluation tests, completing syllabus coverage on time, and strengthening guidance and counselling departments to curb indiscipline and strikes in schools.
Robir also appealed to parents, local leaders, and residents to stop blaming teachers for poor results and instead support schools by visiting them regularly and providing necessary facilities. “This move will enhance effective teaching and learning,” he said.
