Malivani AIC Comprehensive School head teacher, Joshua Mutuse has expressed joy after his two learners participated in the Kenya Science and Engineering Fair (KSEF) and secured slots in the regionals.
The event was held at Kalulini boys’ secondary school.
Commenting on the participation,Mutuse said that the school has invested both time and finance to make their projects stand out. He assured the two students of full support until they reach to the national levels.
“Two of our learners had Solar powered automated irrigation system using soil moisture as their item which is proceeding to regionals. They did well and I am ready to give them my blessings and support so that they can go up to nationals,” Mutuse said
He highly thanked the organisers who saw it fit to include the junior secondary adding that it will help them sharpen their knowledge in science subjects.

Junior schools presented their projects in six key areas of competition; Mathematical and physical science, biological and environmental science, agriculture, technology and engineering, energy and transportation then social and behavioral science, while their senior school counterparts presented projects across 18 different scientific categories.
Other junior schools proceeding to regionals are Malivani AIC, Kari Mwailu, ACK Wote Township, Nguumo, Kathonzweni among seventeen other schools.
The regional science fair will be held at Matuu memorial girls’ high school in Machakos County.
