Makueni Boys High School has posted impressive results to be among the best performing schools in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), getting a mean point of 8.912 to improve on last year’s 8.371 – an improvement index of +0.541.
The school registered a total of 377 candidates and had a total of 14 A Plain when the 2023 results were released as compared to only 2 in the previous results. Another 67 had A Minus.
Nationally, a total of 1,216 candidates scored grade A in the 2023 KCSE compared to 1,146 in 2022.
National schools cumulatively produced 889 As, extra-county schools 172, private schools 143, county schools 5, and sub-county (day schools) 7 As.

The total number of candidates who sat the 2023 examination was 903,260. Those who qualified to join the university were 201,133 candidates.
