Machogu to grace stakeholders’ forum on senior school, teacher education today

The Ministry of Education (MoE) in collaboration with the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) will hold a stakeholders’ engagement in Nairobi today.

The Principal Secretary for Basic Education, Dr Belio Kipsang’ is expected to officiate the event that will hold at KICD and will be graced by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.

Different stakeholders from the education sector will discuss and lay way forward on matters of teacher education and senior school.

The stakeholders will discuss among other issues, the senior school curriculum and the kind of teacher education for those who will steer the senior school system under the auspices of the on-going education reforms.

The meeting will be officiated by the Principal Secretary, State Department of Basic Education, Dr Belio Kipsang, and graced by the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Education, Hon. Ezekiel Machogu, EGH.

The forum will provide a platform for stakeholders to offer their insights relating to Senior School and Teacher Education in the implementation of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC), which is at the second level. The pioneer learners of CBC are currently at Junior School in Grade 8.

This cohort will be joining Senior School in 2026 and will be expected to select subjects from within and across three pathways based on their career preferences.
