Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu has promised Kenyans that in this year’s national examinations there shall be no cases of cheating.
Machogu was speaking while supervising the distribution of Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examination papers in Mombasa County.
He noted that enough measures had been put in place to ensure no exam irregularities are registered.
“We have over 493 exam centers for Class 8 and Grade 6 candidates’ across the country,” he added.
According to the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), more than 3.4 million candidates are expected to sit for their 2022 national exams whereby1,287,597 Grade 6 candidates registered for the KPSEA exam;1,244,188 for KCPE and 884,263 candidates for KCSE.
The KPSEA exam will entail Summative Assessment which will contribute 60 per cent while the two school-based assessments done earlier will contribute 20 per cent each.
Grade 6 pupils will start with Mathematics and English today then sit for Integrated Science and Kiswahili tomorrow and will sit for Integrated Science and Kiswahili papers on Wednesday, November 30.
Standard 8 candidates will sit for Mathematics, English language and English composition papers today. They will sit for Science, Kiswahili and Insha tomorrow and then finish with Social Studies and Religious Education papers on Wednesday, November 30.
