Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has pledged KSh5 million to facilitate construction of a laboratory and donation of 40 computers to promote ICT learning for the students at Karega Secondary School.
He also said that the Ministry has planned to spend KSh658 billion this year up from KSh628 billion in 2023/2024.
The CS said the budget allocation will facilitate remittance of capitation at all levels of education, support employment of teachers in JSS and infrastructure programmes.
Speaking at the school located in Kigumo, Murang’a County, Machogu said the government was interested in the education of the young owing to their potential in the future.

He was the chief guest during the school prize giving day accompanied by host MP Joseph Munyoro and Senator Joe Nyutu.
“Karega Secondary School is unique as in the last three years it has sent more than 350 students in the university and others to colleges where they have acquired skills,” said Machogu.
Munyoro said through the NG-CDF the education programmes will be facilitated to ensure the local schools continue posting better results.
“NG CDF has been supportive to the education programmes in primary and secondary schools,” said Munyoro.
