Machakos Governor holds early Christmas for 1,500 children

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti interacts with children at Machakos People's Park

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti played the role of a benevolent host on Friday, ushering in the festive spirit by organizing an early Christmas party for 1,500 children at the People’s Park.

Amidst the festivities, Governor Ndeti made a significant pledge to extend her support to vulnerable children through education bursaries.

Under the auspices of the County Department of Tourism, the governor warmly welcomed children from 29 different homes across Machakos County.

In a heartening address, she motivated the young minds to ardently pursue their dreams through the transformative power of education, emphasizing its crucial role in societal and economic elevation.

Expressing a deep commitment to the well-being of every child, Governor Ndeti underscored the prioritization of orphans when allocating bursaries, firmly asserting that all children deserve a joyous childhood and access to quality education.

She further announced her intent to ensure that each children’s home in Machakos receives a bursary cheque, dedicated to facilitating the educational journey of these youngsters.

“I am a staunch advocate for education as a fundamental right for every child, a catalyst for socio-economic progress, transforming your lives from the present to a brighter future,” asserted Governor Ndeti.

As she extended warm wishes for a Merry Christmas to all children, she called upon well-wishers to join in spreading festive cheer to vulnerable youngsters during this holiday season.

This initiative follows the County Government’s successful hosting of a similar Christmas party for children in the preceding year.
