A staff member at Maasai Mara University has earned widespread praise after stepping in to help a student who was on the verge of losing his scholarship due to a missing official receipt.

According to accounts shared online, the student’s mother had reached out to well-wishers in distress after repeated attempts to secure the document from the university’s finance office failed.

Her son’s scholarship renewal depended on the receipt, and time was quickly running out.

Moved by her plea, an online Good Samaritan sent her the contact of Cosmas Sitienei, an officer in the Student Finance Department at Maasai Mara University, with the message: “Reach out to Cosmas, he will help.”

With nothing but faith, the mother contacted Sitienei and explained her predicament.

True to his reputation, he immediately acted on the matter without asking for introductions or demanding any favor.  Within a short time, he managed to trace and resolve the issue, allowing the student to retain his scholarship.

The emotional story has since gone viral, with many Kenyans lauding Sitienei for his compassion, humility, and efficiency.
