The Maasai Mara University delegation today visited Kapkoros Comprehensive School in Emurua Dikirr, Narok County which has been earmarked for conversion into a university, assessing its readiness towards the establishment of the learning institution.
The delegation, led by the University Vice Chancellor and accompanied by area MCA Kipkoech Arap Tembur, toured the school as part of preliminary engagements ahead of the proposed upgrade.
Community leaders and residents expressed excitement over the potential transformation, highlighting the project’s promise to expand access to higher education and spur local development.

Speaking on behalf of the Ololmasani community, Tembur welcomed the delegation and conveyed gratitude to the President for initiating the project.
“This is a momentous development for our community. We are optimistic that the university will provide opportunities for our youth and contribute significantly to the region’s growth,” he said.
The proposal to convert Kapkoros Comprehensive School into a university marks a significant step in Kenya’s ongoing efforts to decentralize higher education and make it more accessible to underserved regions.
The community members expressed hope that the project will create jobs, enhance educational opportunities, and strengthen Ololmasani’s role as a hub for learning.
The Maasai Mara University delegation, alongside MCA Kipkoech Arap Tembur, is expected to hold further consultations with local leaders, staff, and stakeholders in the coming weeks as plans for the conversion are finalized.
