Majority of Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) officials in Trans Nzoia County were re-elected in recent polls.

The incumbents led by Executive Secretary Furaha Lusweti Eliud Wafula (Chairman) and Martin Wafula (Assistant Executive Secretary) all sailed through.

Lusweti said their re-election was an affirmation that the teachers had confidence in their services.

Prior to the election, the rival faction dubbed “team change” led by Timothy Wabobo had been tipped to pull a surprise in the election that was closely monitored by key political players in the region.

Lusweti got 690 votes beating Wabobo with 473 votes while Victor Kipchirchir garnered 309 votes to emerge third.

Wafula scored 803 votes to defeat David Anyira who got 645 votes.
