Lurambi NG-CDF disburses over Sh.60m to schools for development

EDUCATION

Over 15 schools in Lurambi Constituency have received cheques worth over Sh. 60 million from NG-CDF to fund stalled projects.

Speaking at St. Basil Lurambi primary school during the handing over of cheques, the area MP Bishop Titus Khamala said the money will help in completing development projects which stalled in 2015.

Khamala however, warned contractors against doing shoddy jobs at the sites which have been experienced in the past.

He said such contractors will not be allowed this time round as the government issues enough money to purchase quality materials in construction to avoid accidents in schools.

Headteachers who were present to receive cheques were asked not to send learners home but to let them stay in school as NG-CDF  had paid money for infrastructure development.

Khamala advised the school Board of Management(BOM) to be aware of conmen posing as CDF officials who visit schools, demanding money on his behalf.

He said such people should be arrested and charged in a court of law as thieves.

A total of sh.40 million from CDF bursary kitty he revealed was issued to 17, 000 applicants as he promised to increase the funds in the next financial year.

Lurambi primary school head teacher and master of education Gerald Wasike lauded the MP for the support he has given after the school was left behind in terms of development.
