Luanda Member of Parliament, MP Dick Maungu has pledged to step up development at Luanda Technical and Vocational College (TVC) and Emululu Comprehensive School in Mwibona Ward, with plans to turn the institutions into a major hub for skills training and education.

Speaking during a development tour of the schools, the legislator said Luanda TVC will be fully completed and equipped to become a centre of excellence in hands-on training stating that courses on offer will include electrical installation, plumbing, hairdressing, ICT, mechanics, tailoring, and food and beverage.

Maungu also noted that the institution will not only serve learners but also stimulate the local economy by creating business opportunities and driving the growth of student housing around the college.

“As soon as the second disbursement from the Ministry is released, Luanda TVC will receive Ksh 17 million to push forward its development,” the MP said.

On the broader plan, Maungu outlined measures to transform Luanda TVC and Emululu Comprehensive School into a modern education complex. These include strengthening management structures, demarcating and planning the schools’ boundaries, constructing an access road, and putting up a modern ablution block.

He urged school boards, parents, and community members to work together to ensure the projects succeed.
