A remote school in West Pokot County has become the North Rift Region champion in the recently concluded ball games tournament in Uasin Gishu County.
The Totum Comprehensive girls’ football team fought through the most challenging games in the quarters and semis, reaching the finals.
And at the finals, the high skills the players applied saved them from being eliminated.
The team was playing against Joyland Academy from Uasin Gishu County, whereby normal time, including extra time, ended in a draw. Both teams selected their best players to take part in the penalty shootout.
Some players scored while others missed.

At the end of the penalty shootout, Totum Comprehensive School had won the game. It was crowned the 2025 North Rift Region football champions.
It was a sweet moment for Totum, as their morale was boosted by KNUT officials from the County, led by the Executive Secretary, Mr. Martin Sembelo, and a cheering squad of teachers.
The Totum Comprehensive School team will now proceed to Kakamega County for the National tournaments commencing immediately.
